Passage II

Second and final sequence for my Visual Storytelling Through Landscape class:

Although as black and white I think they were beautiful, the color versions have so much subtle color and texture from the dawn light I was excited to have them back in color. And the collection as a whole is more visually cohesive than the first, mostly because this set was shot on the same day within the same 2 hour period, versus 3 separate days for the first set.

I think these convey a sense of passage without being to intentional, except for maybe the stairs and bridge shots. But I really like them, so they’re staying in.

I love this concept of passage and will return to it again. Learning about narrative landscape photographers such as John Gossage, Nadav Kander, and Edward Burtynsky definitely piqued my interest in presenting images of the landscape that tell stories about ourselves and our world.
