Northwest Tumble Part 2: Mount Saint Helens

At Windy Ridge, the scars from the 1980 eruption are still evident on the landscape over thirty years later. It was an incredible sight to behold, and to imagine being in that spot when the blast wave flattened trees where they now lay, disintegrating in uniform lines across the mountainside. Dead trees still fill Spirit Lake below. It was eerily quiet.
