Some iPhone shots from around the city from this past year, rendered in black and white. Just a brief preamble: I adjusted some of them after converting from color. I’m not a documentary photographer, and I feel that it is my image to create – it does not have to correspond to reality. That said, I try not to be too heavy-handed with the burning, dodging, and contrast adjustments.

This first group is mostly around my neighborhood in the Western Addition / Hayes Valley area of San Francisco. Always interesting things happening and lots of construction these days. A couple more groups to follow in coming posts.
